IBM is one of the sponsors for the Masters at the Augusta National Golf Club. The tradition is the CEO's of the Corporate sponsors are invited to be members for the Golf Club, but the issue her is, this is an all Male Club and the CEO of IBM is a woman. Woman are not allowed membership into Augusta National, so, what are they going to do about Ginni Rometty, The CEO of IBM.
All prior CEO's (men) of IBM have been given "Green Jackets", What will Augusta do now??
My first reaction was "all the corporate sponsors should pull out", but then I stared to think about the fact that Ginni Rometty has not addressed this issue publicly. Therefore, I think Augusta National will offer Ginny Rometty membership. I don't think IBM would have supported the Masters at Augusta if they were not going to do so especially if this is a tradition. I'm sure a conversation was had when they were in the planning stages for this event.
